Is Protectstar a sustainable company?

At Protectstar™, we firmly believe that security, innovation, and environmental protection should not be in conflict. That is why from the very beginning we have committed ourselves to sustainability and to reducing our ecological footprint. As a carbon-neutral company, we focus not only on energy efficiency in the conception, development, and delivery of our protection solutions, but we also continuously review and optimize all internal processes—from procurement and the operation of our IT systems to the design of our offices.

What does carbon neutrality mean at Protectstar?
Carbon neutrality means that we measure all our emissions and offset them systematically. We reduce them wherever possible—for example by using renewable energy, energy-efficient hardware, and software optimizations. The remaining emissions are offset through verified climate protection projects. As a result, our net CO₂ emissions can approach zero.

Our goals by 2027
We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of making our entire business and all processes fully environmentally friendly by 2027 at the latest. To do this, we follow a clear strategy:

Increase energy efficiency

• We rely on green data centers and run our website on 100% renewable energy.
• Our apps and security solutions are continuously optimized so that they require as few resources as possible and therefore cause minimal power consumption.

Conserve resources and reduce waste

• Through digital workflows, we want to further minimize paper use and office waste.
• A conscious approach to materials and recycling strategies also helps reduce our ecological footprint.

Purchase and produce responsibly

• When selecting hardware and services, we pay attention to sustainable supply chains and prefer providers that also act in an environmentally responsible way.
• Long-term partnerships with organizations committed to environmental protection support our goals.

Transparency and communication

• Through regular reports and updates, we communicate our progress on the path to climate neutrality.
• We want to actively involve our customers, for example by sharing tips on how to use our software more energy-efficiently.

Offsetting remaining emissions

• For emissions that we cannot yet avoid, we support international climate protection projects (such as reforestation or the expansion of renewable energy) in order to offset those remaining CO₂ emissions.
