Why does my Bluetooth headset have no sound when Camera Guard Mac is running in the background?
The issue is caused by the way macOS handles your Bluetooth headset. If the headset is selected as both the audio input and audio output device, Camera Guard Mac’s microphone protection can affect both functions.
The simplest fix is to select your Mac’s built-in microphone as the input device in macOS Sound settings, while keeping the headset as the output device. That way, protection stays active and your headphone sound continues to work properly.
In addition, since Camera Guard Mac 3.7.6, there is an option called “Force internal microphone.” When enabled, Camera Guard can enforce protection of the built-in microphone. This is especially useful if you want to avoid recurring conflicts between the headset microphone and your audio output.
In short: Select the built-in microphone as input or enable “Force internal microphone” — then protection remains active and your Bluetooth headset sound should work again.
