How to resolve storage space problems after an interrupted free space erase process in iShredder Windows
Problem: After using the “Erase Free Space” feature in iShredder Windows, my hard drive became almost full because of a power outage that interrupted the process. Before I started, my hard drive was only about one-third full, but now it is almost full. How can I complete the erase process and recover the storage space?
Solution:
Restart the erase process: Try running the “Erase Free Space” feature again using the 1-cycle 0xff method. This should complete the erase process, and iShredder will automatically clean up the blocked free space and create an erasure report.
Delete temporary files manually: If restarting the erase process does not solve the problem, you can manually delete the temporary freespace.000 files that were created during the process. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Enable the “Show hidden files” option in Windows Explorer.
2. Go to your C: drive and locate the freespace.000 files.
3. Delete these files to free up storage space.
