In Memory of Maxim Dernovoy: Protectstar™ Mourns the Loss of Its Beloved Head of Design

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our Head of Design, Maxim Dernovoy (Maksym Dernovyi).

On April 28, Maxim's family shared the devastating news that he passed away from a sudden heart attack at the age of just 33.

A Ukrainian native, Maxim was born in 1988 and lived in Kyiv with his wife and family. A lover of animals, he adored his cat, Baffy. The war in Ukraine forced him and his family to flee westward in recent weeks, and the turmoil he witnessed left a deep impact on him. Sadly, Maxim’s dream of one day moving to New York with his wife Lena will never come to fruition.

Maxim joined Protectstar™ in 2016 as a designer, and over the years, his talent and passion propelled him to become the Head of Design. His creative vision shaped the very identity of Protectstar™, and his contributions were instrumental to the company’s success.

Maxim was known for his kind, straightforward demeanor and his unwavering dedication to his craft. He was never afraid to stand by his ideas and was always open to exploring bold, innovative approaches. His colleagues loved working with him and were continuously inspired by his creativity and enthusiasm.

Our hearts and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Maxim’s spirit and creativity will always remain with us.
