I connected my iPhone/iPad to my computer and started iShredder iOS, but my device is not displayed. How can I fix this?
If you connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer and open iShredder iOS, but it is not recognized, please follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the iPhone/iPad and close the programs
- Disconnect your iPhone/iPad from the computer.
- Quit both iTunes and iShredder iOS completely.
2. Delete lock files (on your computer)
- Go to the folder C:\ProgramData\Apple\Lockdown.
- Delete all files in this folder — but not the folder itself.
- Please note that this folder may be hidden. If you do not see it, you need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer settings.

3. Reconnect the device and confirm trust
- Reconnect your iPhone/iPad to the computer.
- Open iTunes.
- As soon as you are prompted, confirm the trust relationship between your computer and your iOS device.
- Wait until your device appears in iTunes. You can then close iTunes again.
4. Start iShredder iOS
- Open iShredder iOS.
- Your iPhone/iPad should now be recognized automatically and displayed correctly.
