Antivirus AI reports malware or a threat, but I suspect a false alarm. What should I do?
A false alarm (false positive) is possible in rare cases—even with modern AI-assisted detection. The most important rule is therefore: Stay calm, but take the alert seriously.
If you suspect that it may be a false alarm, please proceed as follows:
1. Document the finding
First, take a screenshot of the detection. If possible, also note down:
- the name of the app
- the package name
- the installation source
- your device model
- your Android version
2. Do not put it on the whitelist too quickly
Please do not immediately ignore the finding and do not create an exception too quickly. As long as the case has not been reviewed, the warning should be taken seriously.
3. Use the support form
For technical questions and security findings, our support form is the fastest route. Send your screenshot and the most important details there. That allows our Support Heroes to review the case cleanly and assess whether it is a real finding or actually a false alarm.
4. Why this information matters
Antivirus AI works with technical signals such as package names and checksums to distinguish harmless software from harmful software more accurately. That is exactly why good case information helps us review detections and continuously improve the protection logic.
In short: save a screenshot, do not whitelist anything too quickly, and report the case through the support form. That is the fastest, cleanest, and most transparent way to clarify a possible false alarm.
